Cathay Pacific to resume flying over Russian airspace

Cathay Pacific will return to flying over Russian airspace from November 1, the Bloomberg news agency has reported, quoting an airline spokesperson. Read More » The first Cathay service to return to overflying Russia will be the Polar Route from Hong Kong to New York JFK. The operational change will reduce the route’s flying time by around two hours from 17 hours now. There were no sanctions that prevented the airline overflying Russia, the airline spokesperson said, and emphasised the Polar Route was safe and the fastest route for the airline’s flights between Hong Kong and the east coast of North America.
