AirAsia India to merge with Air India Express

Read More » Air India, 100% owned by conglomerate Tata Sons, has started an operational review to combine AirAsia India and Air India Express and established a working group led by AirAsia India CEO, Sunil Bhaskaran, and Air India Express CEO, Aloke Singh, to oversee the integration. “We are excited to initiate the creation of a single Air India Group low-cost carrier,” Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said. “This is a key step in the rationalisation and transformation of the group. We will be working closely with our management teams and staff throughout the process. We look forward to the many opportunities a stronger AI Group low-cost carrier will offer customers and staff alike.” The merger is planned for completion by December 2023.
