Cathay Pacific promotes Ronald Lam to CEO

Read More » Lam, the airline’s chief customer and commercial officer, will move to the top job next January 1, Cathay said in a regulatory filing to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong earlier this week. Current CEO, Augustus Tang, will retire from the airline group and take up a new role at major Cathay Pacific Group shareholder, John Swire & Sons. “It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Ronald on his well-deserved appointment to chief executive officer,” Cathay chair, Patrick Healy, said. “I have worked very closely with Ronald in recent years and I have been impressed by his long-term vision for the company, his intellect and his determination to see the group succeed.” Director for customer travel, Lavinia Lau, is the chief customer and commercial officer designate. Chief operations and service delivery officer, Greg Hughes, will retire on April 1, 2023 after 36 years with the company. Director for service delivery, Alex McGowan, will be his successor.
