Garuda Indonesia and Etihad expand codeshares; explore wider cooperation

Garuda Indonesia and Etihad Airways have signed an agreement that adds to their existing codeshare partnership across Europe, Indonesia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the U.S. Read More » “With the extensive networks of both airlines worldwide and nationally, we believe this extended partnership will give added value to Garuda Indonesia’s passengers for access to popular destinations across the globe, especially to the United States, Turkey and Abu Dhabi. It will offer a range of domestic destinations, especially in East Indonesia for Etihad’s passengers,” Garuda Indonesia CEO, Irfan Setiaputra, said. The two airlines also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore collaboration in the cargo, MRO, pilot and crew training sectors. “We look forward to comprehensive and pragmatic ways the two carriers can increase collaboration, enhance benefits and the customer experience for our most frequent travellers and extend the reach of our joint networks beyond our hubs,” Etihad Airways Group CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, said.
