Asiana Airlines attributes third quarter results to foreign currency losses; books operating profit

Asiana Airlines has reported a narrowed net loss of 172.3 billion won (US$129 million) for the three months to September 30 against a 208.4 billion won net loss in the same quarter in 2021. Read More » Revenue improved by 47.2%, to 1.5 trillion won, Asiana said in a regulatory filing. Despite the net loss, which the company said was the result of foreign currency transaction losses, Asiana posted its sixth consecutive quarterly operating profit for the three months as passenger travel recovered after an easing of domestic and international travel restrictions. Operating profit for the three months increased 43.1%, to 229.3 billion won.
