Read More » The rollout of biometric verification technology, which requires passengers to register their biometric details with U.S. Customs and Border Protection on arrival in the U.S., is a result of a positive response to a 1,000 passenger trial. “We have heard from customers they want their airport experience to be hassle-free and technology is a key enabler of that,” Air NZ chief digital officer, Nikhil Ravishankar, said. “Contactless technology changes are coming thick and fast. We are continuing to learn and adapt to innovations to make travel easier. In the new travel era, we need simplicity not complexity.” The Star Alliance carrier will next introduce biometric verification for New Zealand bound passengers at San Francisco International Airport and then at all of its U.S. ports.
