India reports 11.4 million domestic passengers for October

India’s airlines flew 11.4 million travellers on domestic routes in October, up 10.2% from the 10.4 million in-country passengers they carried in September. Read More » Air traffic was 59.2% higher than the 9 million domestic passengers transported by India airlines in October 2021, figures from the country’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) show. Continuing its winning streak, LCC IndiGo was the leading domestic airline for the month with 6.5 million passengers transported or 56.7% of the domestic market. Vistara claimed second place with 1.05 million passengers flown, or 9.2% market share. Air India was third with 1.04 million passengers (9.1% market share). When compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the passengers flown in the 31 days represented 92.6% of the 12.3 million domestic passengers recorded in October 2019.
