AirAsia Indonesia reports US$96 million annual loss

PT AirAsia Indonesia (AAI) has recorded a net loss of 1.5 trillion rupiah (US$96 million) for the 12 months to September 30 against a 1.6 trillion rupiah loss for the previous 12 months. Returning to normal operations after resumption of flying in October 2021 has been slow, AAI said, due to travel restrictions, limitations on passenger capacity from physical distancing on board, closed international borders, COVID-19 testing requirements and customer avoidance of non-essential travel.
