Akasa Air expands domestic network to 11 destinations

India-headquartered Akasa Air will add nonstop to Lucknow from Bengaluru and Mumbai on December 25. Read More » The airline, which began commercial service in August, plans to fly daily between Lucknow and Bengaluru and Mumbai with 737MAX8s. The Uttar Pradesh state capital city is Akasa Air's 11th destination. “Connecting this state capital with the key centres of Mumbai and Bengaluru is an extension of our efforts to boost the country’s economy by strengthening its important transportation linkages. It is in line with our objective of adding flights [to our network] every two to three weeks,” an Akasa Air co-founder and chief commercial officer, Praveen Iyer, said. The airline intends to be operating 500 weekly departures by year-end.
