Hong Kong eases restrictions for arriving travellers

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has removed a rule that restricted travellers to the city, even if they test negative to COVID-19, from moving about freely after they arrived in the HKSAR. Read More » Previously, arrivals from overseas were barred from visiting restaurants until they had recorded a negative COVID-19 test result after three days in Hong Kong under an “0+3” arrangement, but now entrants into Hong Kong are free to move about from the day of arrival. Cathay Pacific said: “the adjustments will boost sentiment for travel, especially for inbound visitors, facilitating the resumption of air travel and strengthening network connectivity as the Hong Kong aviation hub.” The airline group, Cathay Pacific and LCC HK Express, reaffirmed it remains on target to operate 30% capacity recovery by year-end against pre-pandemic levels, increasing to 70% in late 2023 and 100% by December 2024.
