Korean Air records 12% net profit decline in final quarter of 2022

Korean Air (KAL) booked a net profit of 354 billion won (US$279 million) for the three months to December 31, 2022, down from 403.5 billion won in the same quarter in 2021. Read More » Revenue increased 28%, to 3.6 trillion won, KAL said in a regulatory filing. “The airline expects passenger traffic demand to increase gradually in Q1 [2023]. It will focus on normalisation of its passenger business by monitoring and effectively responding to market trends,” KAL said. “With the global economic slowdown, the airline forecasts weaker air cargo demand.”
