Hong Kong International Airport records 3.9% increase in passengers

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) passenger numbers rose 3.9%, to 2.146 million in February from 2.065 million travellers processed through HKIA in January, figures from Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) detail. Read More » The latest results are a huge increase over the 86,000 airline passengers handled by the airport in the same month in 2022. “Due to the relaxation of travel restrictions, all passenger segments experienced significant growth, particularly Hong Kong residents, compared with February 2022,” AAHK said. “Traffic to and from Southeast Asia and Japan recorded the most significant increases.’’ The February 2023 results were 36.5% of the 5.9 million airline passengers who travelled through HKIA in pre-pandemic February 2019.
