Regulator green lights China Eastern Airlines and Qantas partnership interim extension

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued interim authorisation for Qantas and China Eastern Airlines to extend their joint coordination agreement. Read More » “The interim authorisation commences immediately and allows Qantas and China Eastern to continue their operational coordination while the ACCC considers the merits of the substantive application for authorisation,” ACCC Commissioner, Anna Brakey, said. “This interim authorisation decision should not be taken as an indication the final authorisation will be granted.” The two airlines applied to the ACCC in November 2022 to continue working together for another 12 months beyond the expiry of its current authorisation today.
