Strong passenger demand across Asia-Pacfic; global airline association monitor reports

Air travel revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) increased by 55.5% in February compared with the same month in 2022, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said. Read More » February’s results were 84.9% of RPKs recorded in the same month in pre-pandemic 2019. “Despite the uncertain economic signals, demand for air travel continues to be strong across the globe and particularly in the Asia-Pacific,” IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said. “With the Easter and Passover holidays [ahead] we are expecting large numbers of travellers to take to the skies in many parts of the world. They should do so confident airlines have been rebuilding the resiliency that suffered due to the pandemic.”
