Japan Airlines pursues expanded code share with Alaska Airlines

Read More » In its application, the flag carrier requested DoT approval for the Alaska Airlines AS airline code to be added on JAL flights between the U.S. and Japan from May 10 and requested the waiver of the 45-day advance filing requirement so it could begin marketing the services. “Initially, JAL intends to display the AS code on JAL-operated routes to the U.S. west coast gateway cities of Los Angeles, San Diego San Francisco and Seattle as well as from Tokyo Narita and Haneda and Osaka Kansai,” JAL said. Under their existing codeshare agreement, JAL has its JL airline code on Alaska Airlines flights to the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
