Air India “has made great strides” forward in first six months of transformation reports CEO

Air India CEO, Campbell Wilson, said the airline had moved to the next phase of its five-year transformation after an initial period of addressing legacy issues and building the foundation for growth. It has made great strides in tackling many issues that had built up over the years,” Wilson said. “Our record setting aircraft order, the commitment of US$400 million to completely refurbish existing aircraft, the investment of US$200 million in new IT and the recruitment of literally thousands of staff are but a few of the significant investments being made to restore Air India to the upper echelons of global aviation.” The next phase of the Star Alliance member's renewal will focus on building the right platforms, processes and systems at the airline, completing the integration of its LCCs, AirAsia India and Air India Express, and merging Vistara with Air India.
