Airline investment in IT systems increased 16% in 2022

Read More » The report said 68% of respondents expected their airline to increase IT budgets in 2023 compared with 72% in 2022. SITA CEO, David Lavorel, said the faster than expected recovery in air travel post pandemic had put airports and airlines “on the back foot” leading to increased risks of congestion, delays, cancellations and mishandled baggage. “Digitalization is critical to addressing these challenges, providing more scalability and flexibility,” Lavorel said. ACI World director general, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, said the report highlighted an acceleration of investment in digital solutions to make airports smarter, easier for passengers to navigate and also to facilitate seamless interactions between stakeholders.
