U.S. court awards BOC Aviation damages of US$406 million in 747-8F dispute

A U.S. court has ruled in favour of BOC Aviation in a case that involved 747-8F freighters operated by a subsidiary of Russia-based Volga-Dnepr Group. Read More » The court heard AirBridgeCargo flew two 747-8Fs to Russia on March 5 last year despite BOC Aviation issuing a grounding notice to the operator. The notice followed a European Union decision to ban aircraft flown by Russian operators from qualifying for insurance or reinsurance after Russia invaded Ukraine. Judge Lewis Liman from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York awarded the damages of US$406 million to the aircraft lessor following a hearing on April 3.
