Spirit AeroSystems confirms manufacturing issue with 737 MAX

On April 14, Boeing announced 737 MAX deliveries may be delayed after identification of an issue with the aft fuselage section of some of the type. Read More » Spirit Aerosystems, which manufactures the affected section of the aircraft, said it had identified a “quality issue” and notified Boeing of it. “This is not an immediate safety of flight issue,” Spirit Aerosystems said, and added it is developing inspections and repairs for the affected fuselages. Boeing is working with regulators and in contact with airlines about delivery schedules for their orders of the single-aisle airplane.
