Airlines across India carried 12.9 million in-country passengers in March, 21.4% above the 10.6 million domestic passengers they flew in the same month in 2022. Read More » Compared with pre-COVID figures, the March results were 111% of the 11.6 million domestic air travellers India’s airlines transported in March 2019, Directorate General for Civil Aviation data shows. LCC IndiGo was the country’s leading domestic carrier for the 31 days with 7.3 million passengers, or 56.8% of the domestic market, followed by Tata’s Vistara at 1.15 million passengers (8.9% market share) and Air India at 1.14 million customers (8.8% market share).
