China Southern Airlines posts improved US$275 million loss in Q1

China Southern Airlines (CSA) posted a net loss of 1.9 billion yuan (US$275 million) in the three months to March 31 against a net loss of 4.5 billion yuan in the year ago period. Read More » Revenue rose 58.6%, to 34.1 billion yuan and and operating costs were up 30.3%, at 36.6 billion yuan. “The aviation passenger transportation market has recovered and passenger transport revenue has increased in the reporting period compared with the same months in 2022, which resulted in a decrease in losses,” CSA said in its quarterly regulatory filing.
