AirAsia X Malaysia increases passenger traffic by 49%

AirAsia X Malaysia said passenger numbers were up 49% quarter-on-quarter to 504,476 in the three months to March 31 from 337,638 in the same months to December 31, 2022. Read More » Capacity (available seat kilometres) was up 47% and passenger load factor increased one percentage point to 80%. At AirAsia X Thailand, passengers flown rose 29% in the quarter to 289,921, from 224,536 in October-December last year. The LCC lifted capacity by 33%, but load factor eased two percentage points to 88%. AirAsia X is “highly encouraged” by the recent reopening of China and will launch more flights to the Mainland as well as increase frequencies on its most popular and profitable historical routes.
