Air China resumes nonstop Beijing-Auckland after three-year hiatus

Air China has returned to Auckland from Beijing after its suspension of the route from early 2020. Read More » CA783, operated by 787-9 registration B-7832, touched down in Auckland around 1620 local time on May 2 after the 12-hour flight from Beijing Capital Airport. The aircraft was on the ground for three hours before returning to Beijing. Air China's four times weekly Beijing-Auckland service is being flown as part of a codeshare partnership with fellow Star Alliance member Air New Zealand (Air NZ). The New Zealand flag carrier flies daily Auckland-Shanghai Pudong. “We are thrilled to welcome back our alliance partner Air China to New Zealand and to extend our Shanghai route to daily,” Air NZ chief customer and sales officer, Leanne Geraghty, said. “Our strategic alliance with Air China provides additional capacity, improved connectivity, helps meet demand and showcases New Zealand as a world class tourism destination.”
