AirAsia X CEO dampens prospects of cheaper fares; international demand “outstanding”

AirAsia X CEO, Benyamin Ismail, believes air fares will remain at current levels as passengers rushed to return to the skies. Read More » “The company is optimistic about the fare trend in the near future as demand for international air travel remains outstanding,” Ismail wrote in the company's annual report. “We expect fares to rationalise in the future, but we do not foresee them dropping beyond pre-pandemic levels as the industry continues to rationalise its capacity and fare levels.”AirAsia X is in “varying degrees of engagement with third-party lessors for induction of additional aircraft”, he added.
