THAI shrugs off painful pandemic losses

Thai Airways International (THAI) has posted a net profit of 12.5 billion baht (US$368 million) for the three months to March 31 following a net loss of 3.2 billion baht in the same quarter in 2022. Read More » Revenue increased 271.2%, to 41.5 billion baht, THAI said in a regulatory filing. Costs were 98.4% higher at 28.5 billion baht. The Star Alliance member said an “outstanding increase” in passenger revenue following the resumption of more flights and frequency on preferred routes to Japan, South Korea and China produced the results. “Cabin factor on European and Australian flights also was significantly higher,” THAI said.
