Cathay Pacific posts 4.5% rise in passengers; capacity at 47 % of pre-COVID flying

Cathay Pacific flew 1.4 million passengers last month, up from 1.3 million customers in March and more than 40 times higher than the 40,823 travellers it carried in April 2022. Read More » Compared with pre-COVID-19 operations, the latest figures were 44.2% of the 3.1 million passengers the oneworld alliance member transported in the same month in 2019. Capacity, or available seat kilometres, was 47% of four years ago. For “the rest of May and beyond, we continue our efforts to reconnect our customers and our home hub with the world”, Cathay Pacific chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau, said. “We are progressively increasing our passenger flight capacity as we approach the peak summer travel season.”
