Changi Airports International to participate in planning of new Tashkent Airport

Singapore's Changi Airports International (CAI) and Uzbekistan Airports Joint Stock Company (UAJSC) have signed an agreement to jointly develop the proposed Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport in Uzbekistan. Read More » CAI will provide consultancy and technical services for the management and operation of the existing Tashkent Airport and contribute to a UAJSC feasibility study of the project. “We look forward to sharing our airport development and management expertise to optimise the capacity, operational standards and financial performance of the existing Tashkent International Airport as well as supporting plans to develop the new airport,” CAI CEO, Eugene Gan, said. UAJSC chair, Rano Juraeva, said Tashkent had “huge potential as an international hub connecting Europe and Asia and added the city's existing airport had limited potential to expand”.
