Boeing delivering "reworked" 737s; maintains delivery target of 400-450 MAXs in 2023

Boeing chief financial officer, Brian West, told a recent investor conference the company had started deliveries of “reworked” 737s after a production issue was disclosed last month. Read More » “We have begun to deliver airplanes, reworked airplanes, out of inventory,” West told delegates at a gathering hosted by Wolfe Research. On April 14, Boeing announced 737 MAX deliveries could be delayed after identification of an issue with the aft fuselage section of some of the type. Spirit Aerosystems, which manufactures the affected section of the aircraft, identified a “quality issue” and had notified Boeing. The aerospace OEM is holding to its target of 400-450 deliveries of 737 aircraft in calendar 2023, West said. “We still expect the first half of the year to be about 30 per month and the back half of about 40 per month,” he said.
