ANA HOLDINGS increases emissions reduction targets after ICAO issues revised guidelines

ANA HOLDINGS INC., parent of All Nippon Airways (ANA), has raised its emissions reduction targets for 2030 in response to CO₂ reduction targets for international aviation announced at the recent 41st International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) General Assembly. Read More » Previously, the group's medium-term environmental goal was a reduction in total CO₂ emissions to below 2019 levels by 2030. “However, this goal has been revised upwards to a reduction of 10% or more compared with full-year 2019,” ANA HOLDINGS said. “In addition, the ANA Group's plan to replace at least 10% of its fuel consumption with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by 2030 is now part of the group's medium-term environmental goals.” Trends in environmental regulations in various countries and the development of advanced technologies were factors driving the new targets, the group said.
