Region’s airlines carry 2.5% more passengers in April compared with March

Asia-Pacific carriers flew 20.3 million international passengers in April, up from the 19.8 million international passengers flown in March. Read More » The April figure was 249.8% higher than the 5.8 million air travellers the region’s airlines carried in the same month in 2022, the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) said. “The recovery in Asian travel markets is still strong with traffic flows within the region and from the region experiencing robust growth,” AAPA director general, Subhas Menon, said. “Growth prospects for international passenger markets remain healthy and are supported by positive trends in forward bookings for the coming months.” The April result was 63.5% of the 31.2 million international passengers transported by Asia-Pacific airlines in pre-pandemic April 2019.
