Capital A posts US$12.4 million quarterly profit

Capital A has reported net profit of 57.1 million ringgit (US$12.4 million) for the three months to March 31 2023, compared with a net loss of 903.8 million ringgit in the same three months in 2022. Read More » Revenue rose 211.6%, to 2.5 billion ringgit, the aviation, aviation services, digital and logistics company said in a regulatory filing. “Our aviation business has achieved promising improvement, driven by the stabilisation of operational costs thanks to lower fuel prices and maintenance expenses," Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes said. "Our average fare and revenue per available seat kilometre have surpassed 2019 levels, while our passenger statistics are fast recovering pre-pandemic levels. These metrics show AirAsia is still the preferred choice for its great value."
