SpiceJet leases 20 CFM56 engines from FTAI Aviation

Mumbai-headquartered SpiceJet is leasing 56 CFM56 engines from FTAI Aviation as part of efforts to return its grounded aircraft to active service. Read More » The LCC, which has a fleet of 737 family and Q400 turboprops, is working to return 25 grounded aircraft to flight operations. “SpiceJet is slowly but surely progressing towards its goal of restoring its fleet and ensuring our aircraft stay where they rightly belong, that is in the skies serving our passengers,” SpiceJet chair and managing director, Ajay Singh, said. “Our partnership with FTAI Aviation is a step forward that will ensure our fleet is up and running at all times without us worrying about engines or their maintenance,” he said. “Quick and ready replacements will ensure our planes are on the ground for minimal time.”
