Auckland Airport is raising its aeronautical charges over the next four years to fund part of “much-needed” investment in airfield, terminal, baggage and transport infrastructure. Read More » “Travel is back and the recovery is taking place more quickly than anyone expected,” Auckland Airport CEO, Carrie Hurihanganui, said. The higher charges are being introduced after consultations with airport users in the last 24 months, she added. “Now is the time for investment in Auckland Airport if we are to deliver the resilience and customer experience travellers want and be the gateway New Zealand needs for the future,” she said. Domestic charges for jet services per air passenger will increase from NZ$6.75 (US$4.10) to NZ$15.45 by 2026-2027 and international charges per passenger will double to NZ$46.10 in the same time frame. Air New Zealand and Qantas Group have criticised the increases.
