Boeing lifts 20-year commercial aircraft forecast by 3.5%

Boeing’s 2023-2042 Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) expects customers to purchase 42,595 new aircraft in the next two decades. Read More » The forecast is 1,425 aircraft, or 3.5%, above the 41,170 new aircraft deliveries predicted in the aerospace company’s 2022-2041 CMO. However, the latest numbers are 3.3% below the 44,040 new aircraft deliveries forecast in the OEM’s (pre-COVID-19) 2019-2038 CMO. “The aviation industry has demonstrated resilience and adaptability after unprecedented disruption, with airlines responding to challenges, simplifying their fleets, improving efficiency and capitalising on resurgent demand,” Boeing senior vice president commercial sales and marketing, Brad McMullen, said. Asia-Pacific customers will accept 22% of all deliveries and China 20%.
