NOVEMBER 2015

Week 46

Overview

It has been a slower than expected week in Asia Pacific aviation as the 2015 Dubai Airshow ended without a repeat of the order bonanza the industry witnessed in 2013. Although Turkish Airlines, SAUDIA and Royal Air Maroc said they were interested, there were no orders for the A380 in Dubai, leaving Airbus chief operating officer customers, John Leahy, with just seven weeks to make good on his promise of finding another A380 operator by year-end. In Asia, Thai Airways International (THAI) is set to report its largest loss in history, while Singapore Airlines has boosted its global partnerships with the signing of a joint venture deal with Germany’s Lufthansa and an announcement that Dusseldorf will be added to its network.
