IndiGo expands to "Golden City" of Jaisalmer

Read More » The LCC will serve the 81st destination in its domestic network from October 12, followed by the introduction of flights from Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Mumbai on October 29. All of the routes will operate daily. Jaisalmer is known as the Golden City because of its yellow sandstone architecture. The “new route will establish a connection with other regions in the country via major commercial and industrial capitals such as Delhi and Mumbai,” IndiGo head of global sales, Vinay Malhotra, said. “By announcing air connectivity to Jaisalmer, we aim to provide easy access to neighbouring areas and contribute to economic activity.”
Separately, IndiGo’s parent, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, has agreed to lease 10 A320neo, powered by CFM engines, from BOC Aviation. All deliveries are scheduled for this year.
