Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) processed 4.3 million air travellers in July, up from the 2.3 million passengers it recorded in the same month in 2022. International travellers through the airport were 114% higher at 2.9 million, KLIA operator, Malaysia Airport Holdings (MAHB). said. “Airports in Malaysia continue to chart a steady traffic recovery,” MAHB said. “Growth from both international and domestic sectors [for the month] was due to the local school break towards the tail end of July, summer holidays in the northern hemisphere, a gradual return of China travellers, returning Hajj pilgrims, the operations of new airlines and additional flight frequencies introduced after the removal of border restrictions.” KLIA’s July passengers represented 78.3% of the 5.5 million passengers it processed in July 2019.
