Malaysia Airlines and caterer Brahim’s part ways after 26-year partnership

The quarter-century partnership between Malaysia Airlines and caterer, Brahim's Food Services, ended on August 31 after the two companies failed to agree the terms of a new contract. Read More » A disagreement between the two companies surfaced in June, when both parties said they would walk away when the then current contract ended on June 30. They later agreed to extend the agreement for two months to continue negotiations. “During this transition, Malaysia Airlines will be serving impacted routes with alternative inflight food and beverages, ensuring seamless operations while minimising any potential impact on customer comfort and experience,” it said. “To facilitate this, a temporary distribution centre has been established at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in accordance with the safety standards set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia and the Ministry of Health.” Its current inflight catering provider, Pos Aviation Sdn Bhd, will continue to serve some routes, while ground handler AeroDarat Services is managing the inflight meal uplift process to aircraft.
