Qantas Group CEO, Vanessa Hudson, has told staff the airline must work hard to regain the trust of its customers. Read More » "It's an honour to be stepping into the role as Qantas CEO," Hudson said in a video message to staff released publicly by the airline. "We have spent a century carrying Australians to all parts of the globe and bringing the world to our shore. We have overcome many challenges in the process and right now, it feels like we are facing another challenging time. We know that post COVID, we haven't always delivered what our customers expect but we are listening and we hear what they are saying." Hudson commences as CEO today after Alan Joyce said yesterday he was bringing forward his planned departure as CEO by two months. "This is an amazing organisation with incredible people, from Qantas to Jetstar, Freight and Loyalty," Hudson said. "As a company our job is to get the balance right between looking after our customers, you our people and the business itself. Right now achieving this balance must first start with our customers and that's what we will be focused on with our new management team. Together we can get through the current challenges and show our customers why we deserve to be their trusted first choice."
