Korean Air marks start of SAF pilot

Korean Air (KAL) said its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) pilot program in partnership with GS Caltex is underway at Seoul Incheon Airport. Read More » KAL and GS Caltex signed a Memorandum of Understanding in June to conduct research on SAF. The SkyTeam alliance member announced previously it planned to operate six demonstration flights by November on cargo flights from Incheon to Los Angeles to evaluate elements such as safety and energy consumption. The results would help inform the South Korean government's plans to establish related standards such as SAF quality.
