Air New Zealand records 7.4% passenger traffic growth in July

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) flew 1.32 million passengers on its domestic and international networks in July, up 7.4% from 1.27 million passengers flown by the airline in the same month in 2022. Read More » Domestic passengers declined 8% year-on-year, to 825,000, but the Star Alliance member posted international passenger growth of 44.7%, to 492,000 customers carried. Capacity, or Available Seat Kilometres, increased 78.6% in the 31 days. “The overall increase in group capacity was largely driven by the resumption of the international network following the full re-opening of New Zealand’s borders post-COVID,” Air NZ said in a regulatory filing. Passenger load factor for the reported month was 80.7% against 87.9% in the year-ago period.
