China Airlines flew 910,040 passengers in August; 600% plus improvement over 2022

Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) transported 910,040 passengers last month, more than six times the 148,557 passengers it carried in the same month in 2022. Read More » In addition to the strong year-on-year growth, the August figure was 1.4% higher than the 897,323 passengers CAL flew in July. The SkyTeam alliance member booked TW$9.2 billion (US$288 million) in passenger revenue for the 31 days, up 343.2% from TW$2.1 billion a year earlier. However, passenger revenue fell 4% from TW$9.6 billion in the previous month. Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, CAL's August passenger total was 65% of the 1.4 million customers it flew in the 2019 matching month. Passenger revenue was 105% of the TW$8.8 billion CAL earned four years ago.
