IndiGo introduces fuel surcharges for all flights

A fuel surcharge has been added to the cost of IndiGo airfares in response to the “significant increase in aviation turbine fuel” costs in the last three months, the airline said. Read More » The surcharges range from 300 rupee (US$3.60) for routes of 500km in distance to 1,000 rupee for flights longer than 3,501km. “ATF accounts for a substantial portion of an airline's operating expenses, necessitating fare adjustments to address such a cost surge,” the LCC said. Separately, the airline is on the road to four cities across India seeking to recruit future first officers. The 17-month training program will be offered at Skyborne pilot cadet academy in Florida combined with licence conversion in India.
