Airbus has conducted a passenger experience test flight with an A321XLR as part of the type’s flight test program. Read More » The A321XLR, MSN11080, flew out of Toulouse on October 5 and was in the air for six hours and 12 minutes, Airbus said. On board were 167 Airbus employees acting as passengers, 22 experts and 11 crew. Various measurements were taken during the flight, including acoustic levels and the temperature in different areas of the cabin. “It will be interesting to compare the technical data we captured during the flight with the human perception of these parameters,” Airbus human factors senior expert, Hans-Gerhard Giesa, said. “I hope the measurements will give us good results. Now, we have a lot of data to analyse to determine if the systems are working as expected.” The A321XLR is expected to receive its type certificate and entry-into-service in 2024.
