American Airlines requests slots to revive New York JFK-Tokyo Haneda schedule

Delta gave up seven slot pairs after abandoning plans to launch nonstop Portland-Haneda. American is the second airline to apply for the Delta slots. In September, United Airlines requested approval to start nonstop Houston-Haneda. “Since American and United have filed competing, mutually exclusive applications for the seven weekly Haneda slot pairs Delta has returned, DoT should institute a comparative selection proceeding consistent with the Ashbacker doctrine,” American said. “American looks forward to demonstrating the unparalleled strengths and superiority of its Haneda service proposal in such a proceeding.”
