The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has agreed to mutually recognise and reciprocally accept approvals of MRO of aircraft and also aircraft components issued by Civil Aviation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. CAAS also has signed a Confidential Memorandum of Understanding (CMU) with the Mongolia Civil Aviation Authority to expand a bilateral air services agreement enabling unlimited third and fourth freedom passenger services between the two countries. Additionally, the CMU will allow up to 14 passenger services a week to exercise fifth freedom traffic rights between Singapore and Mongolia via any intermediate points and to any beyond points with no restrictions on aircraft type or capacity. The two agreements were announced on the sidelines of the 58th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation for Asia and the Pacific held this week in Dhaka.
Embraer has signed Royal Jordanian Airlines to its Pool Program to support the airline’s eight E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft. It also agreed a contract amendment with Pool Program customer, Greece’s Marathon Airlines.
Aviation technology provider, SITA, said Australia's Newcastle Airport has reduced costs and scaled up passenger processing capacity using SITA Flex, a product designed for smaller and regional airports.
