Sydney Airport CEO, Geoff Culbert, said international passenger traffic in to and from Australia's most populous city grew strongly in September from returning capacity and healthy demand. Read More » “Increased capacity from China, boosted by the restoration of group travel, and a big jump in trans-Tasman travel in the school holidays helped the airport record its strongest international passenger traffic numbers since the [our border] reopened,” Culbert said. “Pleasingly, we continue to see strong demand from international markets where capacity has returned to, or is above pre-COVID levels. Seat supply is still lagging well behind 2019 levels and market recovery is tracking with seat supply. This includes some key regions in the Middle East, North America, Hong Kong and Taiwan.” Sydney Airport processed 1.3 million international passengers in September, ahead of the airport’s domestic passenger recovery to 91.7% for the month.
