HK Express CEO forecasts frequencies will be 33% higher than pre-pandemic schedules by year end

HK Express CEO, Jeanette Mao, has forecast the LCC's flights will soon increase to more than 1.3 times its operations of four years ago. Read More » “As demand for leisure travel has witnessed a roaring return, our continuous investment and expansion in our footprint are testament to our confidence in Asia,” Mao said. “Our flight frequencies have exceeded pre-COVID levels and are expected to be more than 33% higher or above 600 flight sectors weekly, by December. We are very positive about the future of HK Express and our industry.” The Cathay Group LCC, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, will recruit about 500 pilots and cabin crew in 2024 and target a 40 aircraft schedule by 2025. Cathay's latest financial results, published in August, stated the LCC had a fleet of 27 A320 family aircraft at June 30.
