Read More » The changes mean flight frequencies to about 40 destinations in its network will be returning to, or exceeding, pre-COVID-19 levels, by March 2024. “Looking ahead to 2023, we see stronger demand for flights to destinations across Southeast Asia, parts of East Asia and Australia,” SIA senior vice president for marketing and planning, JoAnn Tan, said. “As we restore our network to these regions closer to pre-pandemic levels, our customers will have even more flight options as they make their holiday plans.” In contrast to the growth in Asia and Australia, the Star Alliance member will down gauge Singapore-Frankfurt-New York JFK from an A380 to a four-class 777-300ER. Frequencies also will be reduced on Singapore-Los Angeles, Singapore-Seattle and Singapore-Manchester-Houston. “SIA remains strongly committed to the North American market,” SIA said. “Even with these network adjustments, the airline will operate higher seat capacity to the U.S. compared with pre-pandemic levels.”
