Jetstar responds to Australia-Japan demand with resumption of Sydney-Osaka Kansai

Australia-headquartered Jetstar Airways is restarting nonstop Sydney-Osaka Kansai from next April 1, operating the route three times a week with 787-8s. Read More » The aircraft will be configured with 21 business class recliners and 314 economy class seats at nine abreast. Jetstar last served Sydney-Kansai nonstop 15 years ago. Once the route launches, Jetstar will be serving Kansai from Brisbane, Cairns and Sydney. Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said the LCC had freed up 787-8s for the route because of the arrival of A321neoLR narrow-bodies in its fleet. “This is the eighth international service we’ have launched or announced in the past year and our third new service between Australia and Japan,” Tully said.
